To make women financially strong, the government of Odisha has started a new scheme named Subhadra Yojana. Under this scheme, women of the state will be provided rs. 10000 each year.

Subhadra Yojana was launched on 17 September 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To empower the women of the state, the government will provide an amount of rs. 10000 in two instalments every year. Women will get the benefit of this for five years. The government of Odisha will also give debit cards to the beneficiaries.

Who Are Eligible For Subhadra Yojana

  • The applicant must be a resident of Odisha.
  • The applicant should be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA)/ State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
  • Applicant without an NFSA or SFSS Card can apply under Subhadra if her family income is not more than ₹2,50,000.
  • The applicant’s age should be 21 years or more and less than 60 years as on the qualifying date.
  • Applicants receiving financial assistance such as pension, scholarship etc. of ₹1,500 per month or more or ₹18,000 per annum or more under any State or Central Government Scheme would be ineligible.
  • The applicant should not be a current or former Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
  • The applicant should not be an Income Tax Payee.
  • The applicant should not be an elected public representative in any Urban Local Body or Panchayati Raj Institution (excluding Ward Member / Councillor)
  • The applicant should not be Employed as a regular or contractual employee in the State Government or Government of India or Public Sector Undertaking or Board or Local Body or Government Organization or is receiving a pension after retirement. However, all workers receiving honorarium such as ASHA, Anganwadi Worker, Community Resource Person, Master Bookkeeper, etc. and all those engaged through outsourcing agencies would be considered, if otherwise eligible under this Scheme.
  • The applicant should not be an elected/nominated/ appointed representative in any Government Department or Undertaking or Board or Organization of the Government of India or State Government.
  • An owner of a 4-wheeler Motor Vehicle except tractors, mini-trucks, small commercial vehicles and other similar light goods vehicles.
  • All eligible beneficiaries are advised to complete their registration before the last date of Subhadra Yojana Application.

The scheme is aimed to provide financial support to all underprivileged women in Odisha, helping them cover household expenses, family needs, or education for their children.

Here is the step-by-step process on how to apply for Subhadra Yojana.

Step 1: The interested applicant should collect the application form from the local Anganwadi Centres, Block Offices, Urban Local Body Offices, Mo Seba Kendras, Common Service Centres, etc.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the submit the same at the nearest Mo Seba Kendra/ Common Service Centre (CSC).
Step 10: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and the application number.

Financial Assistance Offered


Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will receive an amount of ₹5000 twice a year. This scheme will continue for the coming 5 years. So the total amount the beneficiaries will get is ₹50000.

The beneficiaries will receive the amount in their bank account, provided at the time of application.

The Government of Odisha is also planning to launch the Subhadra debit card to make the transaction smooth.

When Will You Get The Money


The beneficiaries will get the money directly in their bank account. The Aadhar number should be linked with the provided bank account, which will be verified during the application process.

The first instalment of Rs 5,000 was credited on September 17, 2024. The second instalment of Subhadra Yojana was credited on October 9, 2024. The third instalment date is yet to be announced.

In the coming years, the beneficiaries of Subhadra Yojana will get the first and second instalments on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025) and Raksha Bandhan (August 19, 2025), respectively.
