Eligibility criteria
Here are the eligibility criteria for Deepam 2.0.
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh.
- Women must be at least 18 years old.
- Women must have a ration card.
- Applicants belong to different marginalised groups, such as ST, SC, the backward class, tea and ex-tea garden tribes, forest dwellers, SECC households, and poor households, as per the 14-point declaration under the Ujjwala scheme.
- Multiple LPG connections from the same Oil Marketing Company (OMC) within one household are prohibited.
- The beneficiaries of the earlier Deepam Scheme can also benefit from Deepam 2.0.
Benefits of the Deepam Scheme
The eligible beneficiaries of this scheme will receive 3 gas cylinders per year. The amount of ₹876 per cylinder, excluding the central subsidy of ₹25 will be credited to the personal bank account of the beneficiaries within 48 hours of booking.
The amount will be credited 3 times a year at 4-month intervals. The scheme is projected to cost the state exchequer approximately Rs 2,684 crore.

The applicants need to submit the application form to the local gas distributor. The application process proceeds through the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO), Agency, and District Supply Officer (DSO).
